Exercises

  1. Explain the difference between closing an editor, deleting a file and losing unsaved changes.
  2. Two copies share a filename. Identify the evidence needed to choose the intended one.
  3. Read https://docs.example.org.attacker.invalid/help on paper. Explain why its hostname differs from docs.example.org.
  4. A permission request covers all files for a one-document task. Propose a narrower workflow.
  5. A synchronized deletion reaches your second device. Identify which recovery features must be checked before assuming the file is recoverable.
  6. A restore has the correct filename but the wrong version. Write a content-based acceptance check.
  7. A restart appears to fix a problem. Separate observation from the unproven root-cause claim.

Attempt before reading the calibration. Optional stretch: perform an additional small restore from a separate device or existing approved backup service. This is outside the core allowance and must not require a purchase.
