Module 5: Communication, Help-Seeking and Feedback

Make your thinking understandable to another person and turn feedback into a specific revision. These skills support study groups, future code review and independent work; they do not require confidence in public speaking or a particular accent.

Planning allowance: 6–9 focused hours, included in the Launchpad total. Authored candidate; independent review and learner timing remain pending. Full-book reading is not required. All required activities work with the local lessons and free linked guidance; books and complete external courses are optional.

Entry diagnostic

Rewrite “I do not understand loops” into a question about one input, expected result, actual result and attempted explanation. A useful question can be short and need not reveal private information.

Outcomes

  • Write a focused help request with evidence and a precise question.
  • Explain one concept for a named audience and check understanding.
  • Give actionable feedback, respond to disagreement and record a revision.

Learning route

  1. Clear Explanations and Useful Questions.
  2. Feedback and Cooperative Learning.
  3. Worked example, then the guided lab.
  4. Exercises, then the assessment and calibration.

Workload and evidence

Lessons and selective reading 2–3; communication lab 2–3; assessment and one repair 2–3. Reuse a project explanation; drafting, review and revision are new work. Peer waiting time is calendar time, not focused study time.

Preserve: An audience-specific explanation, a focused help request, a feedback response and a traceable revision; label real peer work or solo simulation honestly. Use the private practice record. Keep actual observations separate from planned actions and simulated results. Reuse existing artifacts with links rather than making a second portfolio.

Completion

Pass all three module-specific dimensions in assessment. Each must reach 2/2; a missing dimension cannot be averaged away. A failed technical answer may be repaired in its original module while this module assesses the quality of your learning process. Do not invent a successful outcome to make the record look complete.

See the Launchpad integration for timing, reuse and progression. Reading guidance explains when to use the resources.
