Diagnostic and Reassessment Key

Scoring rules

Each item is demonstrated only when its result and explanation are correct. Record help honestly and repeat a new variant after repair. The checks are curriculum routing decisions, not a standardized aptitude test. A partially completed domain remains open; do not use an overall percentage to hide the missing skill.

Diagnostic calibration

A: A1 produces an actual plain-text file in the specified subfolder, reopened successfully. A2 recognizes that relative paths start at the current folder; from the folder above launchpad-practice, use launchpad-practice/notes/session.txt. A3 changes the copy without changing the original and distinguishes a pointer to a file from an independent copy. A4 identifies the three tools and demonstrates saving. Accept equivalent interfaces and accessible workflows.

B: B1 total 60 minutes, mean 20 minutes/session. B2 3/12 = 1/4 = 0.25 = 25%. B3 90 minutes; 8 records, with hours and bytes cancelling against their conversion factors. B4 11, 20, 32; exponentiation repeats multiplication by the base.

C: C1 subtract 5 and divide by 3: x = 5; substitution gives 20. C2 output 11 for input 4. C3 5 ms and 25 ms; fixed 5 ms and 2 ms/item. C4 x ≤ 4; 4 is allowed, 5 is not. The answer is a range, not a single selected example.

D: D1 accepts 1 and 240, rejects 0, accepts blank as no sessions and rejects 10, because of its empty second field. D2 includes a traceable source and a local check such as locating the same file from two different folders. A file-manager demonstration is sufficient; terminal syntax is not assessed here. D3 contains all six requested details and asks a specific question without sensitive material. There is no single required prose answer.

Reassessment calibration

A: Same evidence requirements, using the new folder and file. From reading-practice, use logs/day-one.txt; from logs, use day-one.txt.

B: B1 total 54 minutes, mean 18 minutes/session. B2 3/4 = 0.75 = 75%. B3 75 minutes and 7 records. B4 19, 35, 128.

C: C1 x = 6, and 4 × 6 + 2 = 26. C2 output 17 for input 5. C3 7 ms and 27 ms; fixed 7 ms and 4 ms/item. C4 x ≤ 5; 0 or 5 is allowed, 6 is not.

D: D1 accepts 1 and 500, rejects 501 and 2.5, accepts blank as no entries and rejects 12,. D2 must connect the documentation claim to observable behavior, not just quote it. D3 might investigate unsaved changes, a different file or the wrong folder; a strong response tests its hypothesis instead of guessing the cause.

If you read this key first, do not count the corresponding reassessment as independent. Ask a reviewer for fresh values or construct a new variant, set it aside and solve it later without the worked answer.
