Resources and Evidence Limits

Free first route

  • IES: Organizing Instruction and Study to Improve Student Learning. Read recommendations on spacing, quizzing and worked examples when designing the lab. Evidence ratings differ; this is research-informed guidance, not a prescription for a single timetable.
  • Deslauriers et al., 2019. Read the abstract and study setting to understand why perceived and measured learning can diverge. The context was introductory college physics; do not assume every frustrating task improves learning.

Optional depth

  • Make It Stick — Peter C. Brown, Henry L. Roediger III and Mark A. McDaniel. Use a legal library or purchased copy selectively for retrieval and calibration; buying or reading the full book is not required.
  • Learning How to Learn. Use a matching memory or procrastination lesson if you want an alternative presentation. Access options can change; no paid certificate or full-course completion is required. Course metaphors are teaching aids, not substitutes for assessing your performance.

Full-book reading is not required. All local exercises are original. Sources checked 2026-10-27; this module's exact tasks, thresholds and hours are authoring choices awaiting learner validation.
