Code Readability Basics: Reading Guide
Primary source and scope
Start with the module concepts and worked examples. If a specific idea remains unclear, use the selected Clean Code chapters for names, comments, formatting, functions, and readable tests. The book is support here, not the Semester 0 narrative spine.
Read actively
Read one short section only after identifying a concrete problem in your own code. Record the claim you are testing, apply it, and keep or reject the advice based on whether it improves comprehension without changing behavior.
When to stop and when to go deeper
For the compact path, stop once you can solve the transfer task, explain its assumptions, and pass the guided lab. Do not continue into the book's class design, systems, refactoring case studies, concurrency, or heuristic catalog during Semester 0.
For the full-book path, defer the complete book until Stage 3. The Semester 0 work is an early skills preview, not the scheduled whole-book reading.
