Core Curriculum Strands
The Semester 0–10 sequence remains the required core. These strands identify capabilities that recur across semester boundaries; they are not additional semesters or optional reading lists.
| Strand | Introduced | Developed | Graduation evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Testing and verification | Semesters 0–3 | property, mutation, systems, distributed, and production testing | reproducible verification and remediation |
| Security and privacy | Semesters 0 and 4 | protocols, data, architecture, delivery, operations | threat model, security review, provenance, residual risk |
| Human-centered accessibility | Semester 3 | product/system decisions in Semester 8 | usability retest and WCAG 2.2 audit |
| Responsible AI | Semesters 0–2 | data, architecture, delivery, and operations | baseline, evaluation, risk, cost, and fallback evidence |
| Ethics and professional responsibility | Semester 0 | design, leadership, security, and operations | ethical-impact decision record and defense |
| Empirical and scientific practice | Semester 1 | benchmarks, experiments, reliability, and capacity work | reproducible investigation with uncertainty |
| Sustainability and cost | systems foundations | architecture and cloud operation | cost/carbon decision with measurable functional unit |
