Independent Core Assessment and Calibration

Attempt the A-prompts in the assessment page before reading this key. Score with the same 0–3 rubric as the existing SC gates; each core gate also needs 2. No fixed implementation time or mistake count is graded.

  • A1/C01: a toolbar factory returns mobile button and desktop scrollbar. Reject the pair despite matching method names. Show a changed same-family case that passes and compare a callable with a multi-method factory. The factory abstraction alone is insufficient evidence of compatibility.
  • A2/C02: build a POST with a caller-owned headers dict, save it, modify the caller and reject a later invalid GET/body request. The saved request remains unchanged in both cases. Include field-local versus whole-object validation reasoning.
  • A3/C03: the two fields of a new template share a list, but the list must not be shared with the source. Preserve that topology under copying and explain what changes when a field represents a borrowed service. A tree-only recursive copy may lose sharing or fail on cycles.
  • A4/C04: a budget contains the same sub-budget twice. Under occurrence semantics it contributes twice; under unique-item semantics it may contribute once. State the chosen contract, detect a true cycle, and separate invalid-node, cycle and depth-limit cases.
  • A5/C05: first acquisition raises; second succeeds; first read on that resource raises; closing still releases it once. Explain why a failed acquisition and failed use need different state transitions. State the no-concurrency/no-close-failure assumptions.
  • A6/C06: a request to add another exporter is not itself a reason for a particular pattern. Compare viable designs, implement the chosen changed case, preserve compatibility tests and identify a reconsideration trigger. Defend one Factory/Builder, one Adapter/Facade/Bridge and one Composite/Proxy/Flyweight decision from the combined core/SC work.

A passing answer identifies required behavior and its evidence; naming a pattern, copying the reference or passing final-value-only tests is insufficient. Preserve original attempt, repair, fresh variant and actual help. Recheck one weak and one changed contract after 7–14 days within the existing assessment allowance; count repeated artifact work once.
